Building Good Citizens for Texas was Co-Founded by myself, Evelyn Weilert , along with Dallas Attorney Frank Tucker and the Texas Education Agency. I am the facilitator for Texas for BGC4T, as well as, the contact for BGC4T in the Texas Education Agency’s internal directory. Involved in education my entire career, I have experience in many different areas in the Texas education system, so I understand the challenges that are faced by Texas educators, administration and local school boards. Some of my background is:
- Teacher for 25 years
- Organizer and President, Bastrop Unit of ATPE (Association of Texas Professional Educators)
- School Board Vice-President, 12 years
- Bastrop Chamber of Commerce Director and Education Chair
- Developer and Coordinator, Bastrop ISD K-12 Mentor Program
- Developer and Coordinator, Bastrop ISD K-12 Honors Program
- Bastrop Woman of the Year
- Bastrop Citizen of the Year
